The price of a good
.. search engine listing or pagerank seems to be a fair amount of comment spammers are now registering. There's been at least 16 automated registrations in the last 24 hours that the software managed to filter out.
No doubt Ive missed a few and if anyone spots any links to porn sites, diet pills, weight loss, chemists, viagra, and generally anything off topic, then I would be grateful to any member who points any suspect posts out to me.
Cheers.Your messages are really important to us

That would be appreciated as my inbox is filled every morning and I struggle to check them all. Thing is, there could be a few genuine members amongst all the shite that gets deleted and accounts for about 90% of new registrations here now.
My apologies if this had happened to any real sign ups. I respond to every message, so please let me know if you got booted and I will do my best to get your account working as quickly as possible.Your messages are really important to us

I just did some maths and I'm impressed with our new fly swatter. I installed an automatic spam catcher on January 9th and it's nailed 765 dirty scoundrels in that time.
I figured if it takes 2 minutes to check up the database then allow/ban an IP address/user.
765 x 2 = 1530 minutes
divide by 60 and that makes 25.5 hours spare hours I've had to drink beer and read the forums instead of moderating it this month.Your messages are really important to us
